Armidale Regional Council

Widely considered the ‘capital’ of the New England High Country, Armidale is centrally located between Sydney and Brisbane. With a cosmopolitan culture, it is a dynamic, progressive and innovative university city.

Armidale is divided by Dumaresq Creek and flooding has at various times damaged properties on the creeklands, destroyed or damaged bridges, footbridges and crossings and prevented access to South or North Armidale respectively.
