Water Modelling-Palaeo Stochastic Climate Data

Overview

Water Modelling – Palaeo Stochastic Climate Data serves as a central navigation page for region-specific stochastic climate datasets used for water modelling across NSW. This page does not contain downloadable data directly; individual regional datasets are available via the Related Datasets section below.

The stochastic data are 10,000-year daily datasets of rainfall and potential evapotranspiration generated using observed datasets combined with palaeo-climatic data. This work has been undertaken by researchers at the University of Adelaide and the University of Newcastle and has been used in modelling for Regional Water Strategies.

Data access is provided within each regional dataset via secure WaterInfo web portal links. Users are required to create a free account prior to download. Detailed access and download instructions are provided within each regional asset. This approach supports system security, protects data integrity, and ensures the ongoing availability of the service for all users.

Note: If you would like to ask a question, make any suggestions, or tell us how you are using this dataset, please visit the NSW Water Hub which has an online forum you can join.
