These data were collected as part of the NSW Grazing Study. A range of methods employed to characterise the groundcover at each of the 451 sites.

An estimate of the percentage groundcover in five (5m x 5m) quadrats into the following categories; vascular plants, bare soil, litter (including an estimate of the percentage derived from groundstorey plants), biological soil crusts (e.g. cryptogams).

Enumeration of the lineal metres of coarse woody debris (diameter >10cm) in five (5m x 5m) quadrats

The size and abundance of perennial grasses. In five (5m x 5m) quadrats a count of the total abundance and diameter at base of twenty grass butts.
