The NSW Schedule 12 Matter 12 report focuses on monitoring and evaluating progress towards water quality targets outlined in Chapter 9 of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan (2012). These targets are critical for ensuring the protection and restoration of ecosystems, maintaining ecosystem functions, and supporting resilience to climate change. Reports on Matter 12 are compiled every five years, providing a comprehensive assessment of water quality across the Basin and identifying risks to aquatic ecosystems, recreational activities, and irrigation use. Reporting commenced 2020.
