Hydrologic Modelling of Connectivity Expert Panel Recommendations 2025–Scenario 5–Connectivity EWA–Bourke Flow Trigger

Replenishment releases are triggered by a continuous period of low flow at Bourke. Up to one smaller release each year, releases from dams in the NSW Border Rivers, Namoi and Gwydir valleys are triggered when restrictions at Bourke under the resumption of flow rule are triggered by flow less than 450 ML/d for 120 days. Releases are made to target a flow at Bourke of at least 500 ML/d for 14 days.

A connectivity environmental water allowance was not considered for the regulated Macquarie River as it empties into the Macquarie Marshes rather than the Barwon-Darling.
