As part of the NSW government’s Koala strategy (Action 2.3 – Supporting councils to deliver koala habitat maps), Wingecarribee Shire Council aim to produce koala habitat maps. A critical prerequisite for the habitat maps is vegetation mapping with on ground accuracy and reliability. An accurate extant vegetation layer is an essential baseline for producing an accurate vegetation map, so this extant dataset was produced to underpin Wingecarribee Council’s vegetation mapping and subsequent koala habitat maps. The dataset makes no distinction between native and exotics species.
