Proposals for a rail link between Sydney Airport and the Central Business District of the city have been discussed for many years. The objectives of the New Southern Railway development proposal are to: extend the surburban rail network to link Sydney Airport and South Sydney into the existing CBD and suburban railway systems and enhance Sydney transport network.
