State Electoral District - NSW Administrative Boundaries Theme - GDA2020 Services

Access API  Export DataNEWWe have released a new GDA2020 version of our Foundational Spatial Data Framework (FSDF) datasets which replaces the current GDA94 version. This updated service aligns our spatial data with the national standard, improving accuracy, consistency, and compatibility with modern positioning technologies. The previous service will remain available during the transition period as GDA94 services are retired, but users are encouraged to move to the new GDA2020 service as soon as practical.State Electoral District - NSW Administrative Boundaries Theme – GDA2020 ServiceMetadata Portal Metadata InformationContent TitleState Electoral District - NSW Administrative Boundaries Theme - GDA2020 ServiceContent TypeHosted Feature LayerDescriptionNSW State Electoral District is a dataset within the NSW Administrative boundaries theme (FSDF). It represents current NSW electoral boundaries which were formalised in the 2021 electoral redistribution and enacted in the 2023 NSW state election. The Electoral District Boundary aligns to, or is relevant to, the cadastral line data or topographic data features which form, by definition, the boundaries between adjoining electorates. The Electoral Commission NSW is responsible for this dataset. Any changes that occur to the dataset should have a reference in the authority of reference feature class in the Administrative boundaries theme.Spatial Services maintain this dataset relative to the NSW Digital Cadastral Dataset. That is, if cadastral boundaries are upgraded to better align to property boundaries shown on original survey plans, State Electoral Districts are also moved to reflect this improved spatial accuracy.Initial Publication Date05/02/2020Data Currency01/01/3000Data Update FrequencyOtherContent SourceData provider filesFile TypeESRI File Geodatabase (*.gdb)Attribution© State of New South Wales (Spatial Services, a business unit of the Department of Customer Service NSW). This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. A program to upgrade the spatial location and accuracy of data is ongoing.Spatial Reference System (dataset)GDA94Spatial Reference System (web service)EPSG:7844WGS84 Equivalent ToGDA2020Spatial ExtentFull StateContent LineageFor additional information, please contact us via the Spatial Services Customer HubData ClassificationUnclassifiedData Access PolicyOpenData QualityFor additional information, please contact us via the Spatial Services Customer HubTerms and ConditionsCreative CommonsStandard and SpecificationOpen Geospatial Consortium (OGC) implemented and compatible for consumption by common GIS platforms. To do this you need to add a Spatial Join.A Spatial Join is a GIS operation that affixes data from one feature layer’s attribute table to another from a spatial perspective. To see how NSW Address, Property, Lot Geometry data and tables can be spatially joined, download the Data Model Document. Data CustodianAustralian Electoral CommissionAEC Contact Page: Contact Us!© Commonwealth of Australia 2017Point of ContactPlease contact us via the Spatial Services Customer HubData AggregatorDCS Spatial Services346 Panorama AveBathurst NSW 2795Data DistributorDCS Spatial Services346 Panorama AveBathurst NSW 2795Additional Supporting InformationData DictionariesData Model Document. TRIM Number
