This study involved mapping changes in forest extent, structure, condition and floristics using three sets of historical aerial photography (1945, 1970 and 1991). Comparisons were made between these years and also with the forest structure results obtained from the same methodology implemented by OEH (Bowen et al, 2011). The most significant advances in River Red Gum extent were seen to have taken place between 1970 and 1991.
