Emergency Management

The function of emergency management comprises activities aimed at minimising and managing disasters and assisting individuals, groups and whole communities in times of crisis.

The function includes developing plans for the defence of the community in times of national crisis, assisting in the control of fires, floods, storms, earthquakes and other natural phenomena, rescuing the injured and ferrying the sick and injured to hospital.
