Lagoon Opening data:
- Wamberal Lagoon and Avoca lake openings
- Automatic recorder levels
- Comparison of Wamberal lagoon openings
- Comparison of Terrigal lagoon openings
- Comparison of Avoca lake openings
The continuous recording of water level information at all four lagoons is useful in
understanding entrance opening behaviour. Comparison of the 1994 and 1993 events show similarities in some areas and differences in others. Observation of more events, (say 10 or more), may be required before a clearer picture can be obtained. The recording of more extensive data such as tides, wave activity, winds and berm geometry would provide a better understanding of the processes, and this is recommended for any future openings initiated by Council.
