    A compilation of private land conservation agreements in NSW executed under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and preceding legislation. Agreements are organised into three feature layers: formal agreements grouped by duration into In Perpetuity (ongoing) and Termed (non-ongoing) layers, with a third layer containing entry level Wildlife Refuge agreements. Agreements are usually registered on title. The agreement types included in this dataset are Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements (formerly Biobanking Agreement), Voluntary Conservation Agreements, Registered Property Agreements, Nature Conservation Trust Agreements, Wildlife Refuges, and Conservation Agreements.

    NSW Private Land Conservation Agreements (NSW PLC Agreements) is an authoritative dataset that brings together all private protected areas administered by the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT). It replaces a previous dataset known as ‘BCT Agreements’ which was first released by the BCT in 2019. NSW PLC Agreements organises private protected areas into a single layer with geometric overlaps between different agreement types. The dataset spatially represents the boundaries of agreements made under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and preceding legislation. Individual Deeds of Agreement should be consulted for specific information about the extent of the subject land and legal obligations of the land owner. Agreements entered into under the BC Act are registered on the land title, binding current and successive landowners. Agreements established under preceding legislation may not be registered on title. Three agreement types are represented in the dataset (1) Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements (BSA) (formerly BioBanking agreements), (2) Conservation Agreements (CA), and (3) Wildlife Refuge Agreements (WRA). The dataset is for internal use only, and is not for public distribution or display.
