Web map to view available imagery web services (compiled) from the NSW Spatial Collaboration Portal for the Wollongong City Council Local Government Area. From the imagery mosaics created from the Historical Aerial Photo Enhancement (HAPE) project. Mosaics also available through the Historical Imagery ViewerCurrent and historic imagery
form an important part of the NSW Foundation Spatial Data Framework and provide
a valuable resource which is widely accessed by government and the broader
community on a daily basis. As the completeness of this data base continues,
its market demand also increases across a broad range of applications.Spatial Services aerial
imagery was originally captured using a variety of cameras including the Wild
RC-5, RC-10 and Leica RC-30 cameras with a variety of lenses with focal lengths
of 88mm, 153mm and 304mm. Images were captured in monochrome or colour during
this period at a range of scales. Capture scales ranged from 1:5 000 to 1:80
000.
The Historical Air Photo
Enhancement program (HAPE) not only allows the capability to search, discover
and use source imagery, but also provides the delivery and viewing of enhanced
historic rectified imagery mosaics. This new development means the community at
large can now access and utilise spatially accurate historic imagery:This web map only displays the available "Historical" imagery web services that have some coverage of the Wollongong Local Government Area.Metadata Initial Publication Date March 2022Spatial Reference System EPSG 4326: WGS 84 Geographic 2D TypeImageryUpdate FrequencySpatial Services releases mosaics incrementally as they completed, and they may not be included in this compilation.Contact DetailsWollongong City Council - Mapping Services, NSW Spatial Services - Digital Services Relationship to Themes and DatasetsNSW Imagery Theme of the Foundation Spatial Data Framework (FSDF)AccuracyAssessment of positional accuracy for each mosaic was undertaken using a 5km x 5km grid. An overall accuracy of +/- 20m for 95% of the 100k map sheet was targeted.
