\nThis dataset has spatial reference [WGS 84 \u2248 GDA94] which may result in\nmisalignments when viewed in GDA2020 environments. A similar service with a\n\u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix is available which can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS 84 \u2248\nGDA2020 environments.
\nIn due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended\nthat the original service name will adopt the new multiCRS functionality.

Description

The\n Geocoded Urban and Rural Addressing System (GURAS) is a \u2018property\u2019 \nbased address database.

The GURAS \ndatabase is commonly used by all levels of government for emergency \nservices, computer aided dispatch systems, postal and delivery services,\n and to identify location.

Address points are generally system \ngenerated points and do not always have a direct correlation to the \ndwelling location. In circumstances where there are multiple disparate \nlots for one property, particularly in rural addresses, the system \ngenerated address points may not reside within the correct property \npolygon. Owner's names are not part of the GURAS database, nor does \nGURAS contain any personal information.

The Geocoded Addressing \nTheme is a single source of truth for address information in NSW, GURAS \neliminates the costly duplication of effort where all local councils, \nAustralia Post, emergency service organisations and other agencies and \nbusinesses maintained individual address databases with different \ncreation and distribution regimes.

AccuracyThis dataset was captured by\n utilising the best available source at a variety of scales and \naccuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National \nMapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). \nTherefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at \nmap scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, \n1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = \n50m. A program to upgrade the spatial location and accuracy of data is \nongoing.

Some\n of Spatial Services Datasets are designed to work together for example \n\u201cNSW Address Point\u201d and \u201cNSW Address String Table\u201d, NSW Property \n(Polygon) and NSW Property Lot Table and NSW Lot (polygons). To do this \nyou need to add a \u201cSpatial Join\u201d.

A\u00a0Spatial join\u00a0is a\u00a0GIS\u00a0operation that affixes data from one feature layer\u2019s\u00a0attribute table\u00a0to another from a\u00a0spatial\u00a0perspective.
