NEW

We have released a new GDA2020 version of our\u00a0Foundational Spatial Data Framework (FSDF) datasets\u00a0which replaces the current GDA94 version. This updated service aligns our spatial data with the national standard, improving accuracy, consistency, and compatibility with modern positioning technologies.

The previous service will remain available during the transition period as GDA94 services are retired, but users are encouraged to move to the new GDA2020 service as soon as practical.

  • Domestic Water Front Precinct

The Administrative Boundaries theme is used to show administrative areas that represent:

  • Voting Districts\u00a0
  • Redistributions\u00a0
  • Zoning\u00a0
  • Socio-Economic analysis\u00a0
  • Regional Planning\u00a0
  • Service Distribution\u00a0
  • Local and\u00a0State Government Boundaries\u00a0

In addition,\u00a0Administrative Boundaries can also be used\u00a0for analysis and to look\u00a0at trends\u00a0over time.\u00a0Administrative boundary data in\u00a0combination with geo-coded address data, demographic information and agency specific business information underpins the ability\u00a0to perform high quality spatial analysis.\u00a0


The use of this data in\u00a0combination with other data includes:\u00a0\u00a0

AccuracyThe dataset maintains a positional relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot and Property digital datasets. This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m.\u00a0A\u00a0program to upgrade the spatial location and accuracy of data is ongoing
