Sites do not necessarily represent the entire distribution of the species or ecological community. Species or ecological community experts originally identified the location and extent of management sites, and the spatial geometry is maintained and updated to reflect new information on an on-going basis by the SoS Project Coordinator via the SoS Database. In this publicly available dataset, if the species is considered sensitive as per the [NSW Government Sensitive Species Data Policy](https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/topics/animals-and-plants/wildlife-management/wildlife-policies-and-guidelines/sensitive-species-data \"Sensitive species data policy\"), or if the site has restricted access, then a site is denatured to its Local Government Area extent.\r\n\r\nSites are justified as either priority or contributing sites. Priority sites are where experts have determined that managing threats will lead to securing threatened species and ecological communities in the long term.
