Dthinnia Dthinnawan Nature Reserve vegetation mapping was undertaken by Dr John T. Hunter in 2006 by contract for the NPWS Northern Tableland Region. In 2008 the mapping was updated to include what is now Dthinnia Dthinnawan CCA Zone 1 National Park.

The vegetation of Dthinnia Dthinnawan is described and mapped (scale 1:50 000). Ten communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association). These ten communities were mapped based on ground truthing, air photo interpretation, landform and substrate.
